As already advised by the Hon Secretary, our next meeting is the AGM. The proposed menu is cod and chips, followed by sticky toffee pudding. As there is no speaker, a reduced fee of £20 will be charged.

The topic for the next meeting is as stated in the programme: “Brand names, why are they called as they are” by Anthony Poulton-Smith. The planned menu is a sautéed mushroom starter, followed by braised steak served in a carbonnade sauce. We welcome two new members, John Eveson and Gerry Thomas.
You will no doubt be saddened to know that our immediate past Chairman, Chris Straw, died suddenly last weekend. The funeral will be at Robin Hood Crematorium at 15.00 hrs on 7 Oct, and afterwards at The Forest, Dorridge.
