Members of Roding Probus at a post Coronation lunch at West Essex Golf Club, May 2023
Roding Probus, as with all those using the Probus name, is a self-administering, autonomous social group. You can read more about Probus nationally and internationally here.
Membership is made up of professional and business mainly retired men from a wide range of occupations. We are probably best described as an association of mostly semi-retired or retired businessmen who come together in a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit, autonomous club providing regular opportunities for members to meet others in similar circumstances, with similar levels of interest, make new friends, and maintain and expand their interests. Although Probus Clubs can be made up of men, women or be mixed (men and women) clubs, the choice of Roding Probus is to meet monthly as a male-only luncheon club but spouses/partners of club members and widows of former members are encouraged to participate in the social activities.
Welcome changes have taken place in recent months with members of the erstwhile
