Stirling Probus Club is an association of retired and semi-retired professional and business people who meet regularly for social interaction and to listen to a speaker.
Probus meetings provide an opportunity to make new friends, enjoy conversation, and share diverse interests and experiences.
Members enjoy talks on a wide variety of subjects normally followed by a lively question time with the guest speaker, see the current programme on the Programme page.
The club meets between 10:00am and 12:00 noon on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from September to May in central Stirling, further details on the Venue page.
The organisation of the club is deliberately kept very simple with a basic management team to organise speakers and look after the finances. Each winter members meet with their partners for the annual Ladies Lunch.
The Stirling Probus Club was inaugurated in 1975 under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Stirling, with whom an association has been maintained. The membership, currently around 45 in number, consists of retired business and professional men with a wide variety of backgrounds from industry to local government. The age range is from early 60s to some very active gentlemen in their 80s and beyond.
