CORONA VIRUS
Following the easing of restrictions due the pandemic, we have resumed our regular Tuesday morning meetings. The wearing of face masks is up to individual members and hand sanitizers will be available.
Probus Clubs form a world-wide network to provide regular gatherings to those retired or semi-retired business or professional people who, in retirement, appreciate and value opportunities to meet others in similar circumstances and with like interests.
Woodmancote Probus Club is a non-political, non-sectarian all male club, founded in 1984, and endeavours to provide opportunities for meeting old friends and making new friends.
Meetings
We meet at Woodmancote Village Hall, Bushcombe Lane, Woodmancote, Cheltenham, GL52 9HX. Meetings start at 9.45am each Tuesday morning (except the day after a bank holiday) when members gather for coffee and biscuits and enjoy a social chat with friends and colleagues. This is followed at 10.30 by a presentation by an invited speaker. We endeavour to cover a wide variety of subjects of interest to our members. Outings
During the year, we arrange outings to places of interest when spouses/partners are invited to join us for a day out. Recent outings have included a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum, the Wedgewood Porcelain Factory and a trip by barge around the waterways of Bristol. During the festive season we have a Christmas Lunch at a local hotel attended by members and their spouses/partners.
Costs
Costs for membership are modest: Annual membership is £20 per year and there is a charge of £3 for each meeting attended. Outings and Christmas lunch are charged separately according to the venue.
New Members
We are always looking for new members to join us. You are very welcome to attend as a visitor for a meeting or two to see if it is something you would enjoy before committing to a year’s membership.
